Loket Castle

Loket Castle

Loket Castle, built of stone, is a more than 800-year-old settlement, positioned on a granite rock that is surrounded by the river of Ohře.

It was most likely founded as a frontier fortress. The castle served kings, the lords of Schlick and of Plauen, and Loket’s townsmen, and it was used as prison in the 19th and 20th centuries.
